Around 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland were left without power on the start of the week after powerful weather events passed over the state, bringing strong winds reaching 109km/h.

Moist weather were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing thunderstorm potential predicted across different parts of both regions.

Health officials warned that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, particularly given the current weather patterns.
