Intensive Russian Assaults Disrupt Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to water systems, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has intensified strikes on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "real steps" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and applying penalties," he wrote in a social media post.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets targeted energy facilities, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Regional authorities said the city experienced heavy assaults throughout the evening. A young boy died and several individuals were hurt.

The strikes come after periods of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The whole nation is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated utility staff and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
